  • 500 g 20% fat minced beef
  • 500 ml Passata
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsps Tomato Puree
  • 1 Medium Carrot Finely Diced
  • 1 tsp Garlic puree
  • 1 Heaped teaspoon Orginal black garlic paste
  • 6 Cloves of Original black garlic cloves slicced
  • ¼ tsp Italian Mixed herbs

Black Garlic Bolognese

A quick tasty alternative packed full of unami and sweet tanginess from black garlic.

Prep 30 minutes
Total 1 hour 30 minutes
  1. Heat the large pan, and add the minced beef, season with a pinch of salt and cook till brown and remove from pan.
  2. Drain off the excess fat add the diced onions, and onions.
  3. Once the onions are soft add in the browned beef, followed by the garlic puree, herbs and tomato puree. Mix and cook for a minute or 2 and then add the black garlic cloves and passata.
  4. Bring to a gentle bubble and turn the heat down to low and simmer slowly for about 45 mins stirring regularly.
  5. After 45min stir in the black garlic puree and grate in some parmesan mix to gather and leave to rest with the lid on. Using the other pan put the pasta on.
  6. Once the pasta is cooked mix a good dollop of the bolognese into the pasta put into a bowl and top with more bolognese and parmesan and enjoy.
