WORLD PASTA DAY! Monday 25th October 2021

Ok, so I might have been born in Spain and have chorizo running through my veins but what can I say, I’m an absolute pasta junkie. I love the stuff! I love how versatile it is and how it takes on so many different flavours. You can go simple with just some tomatoes, garlic, a little chilli and fresh basil, or you can do something very special and wonderful like a stunning duck ravioli in a wild mushroom sauce.

Making homemade pasta is so easy and enjoyable. All you need are eggs, flour and a pinch of salt - that’s it! If you have never tried to make your own pasta, I recommend giving it a try. And lucky for you and us we have @caldesi on hand with everything we need to know with a guide to making fresh pasta.

We all know that pasta comes in all different shapes and sizes, but did you know there are approximately 350 different types of pasta? That’s a lot of pasta to choose from! What’s your favourite? Mine are linguine, pappardelle and rigatoni.

To celebrate World Pasta Day, I have chosen a few recipes for you to check out.

I’m loving @sanjcooks’s recipe for Pasta Alla Vodka. All I need to make it even better is a glass of red wine and lots of bread for mopping up the sauce.

We can’t talk about pasta and not feature a seafood recipe. @recipebreakout has us covered with her stunning Fish Stew with Orzo and a Saffron Aioli.

Get your lady and the tramp on with @mcr.foodie Beef and Pork Meatballs.

How amazing do they all look and sound? I think we can all agree that pasta is loved by everyone. I mean we’ve only been eating pasta since at least 5,000 B.C.

You guys have been making me soooooo hungry with all the beautiful recipes you have been loading this week. From Butter Croissant to Mexican Street Corn and everything in between. So many incredible and super tasty recipes, but I have chosen 3 recipes that have really made me want to chew my own hand off.

@zarskitchen is embracing pumpkin season with her stunning Bubbling Comté Pumpkin Gnocchi Bake with Bacon & Crispy Sage.

And I mean who doesn’t love a rice bowl? Especially when @healthyfitbella is knocking up this beauty of a Salmon Rice Bowl, no wonder it’s got over 70,000 Reel views!

Let’s end things off with a ghoulish Halloween treat from @jonwatts88 and his spooky Halloween Brownies.

That's it for now, stay safe and happy cooking!
