INGREDIENTS

  • 6 Large potatoes
  • 4 Spring onions, sliced
  • 1 Green pepper, diced
  • 1 Red pepper, diced
  • 3 Whole chillies, deseeded and sliced
  • 4 tsps Salt and pepper spice mix
  • Spray light oil

  • 2 tbsps Coarse sea salt
  • 2 tbsps Granulated sweetener
  • 1 tbsp Chinese 5 spice
  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 2 tsps Ground white pepper

Salt and Chilli Chips

The perfect side dish to an asian fakeaway!

  1. Mix all of the spice mix ingredients together.
  2. Pre heat the oven to 200℃.
  3. Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunky chips.
  4. Place them in a pan of boiling water and simmer until they just start to soften.
  5. Drain the potatoes and spray a baking tray with spray light cooking oil.
  6. Coat the potatoes in spray light and sprinkle them with some salt and pepper spice mix.
  7. Place in the oven for around 20mins until they are starting to colour.
  8. Spray a frying pan with oil, then add the spring onions, peppers and chillies and cook to soften.
  9. Once softened, add in the potatoes and sprinkle with some more salt and pepper spice mix. Keep tossing the ingredients so they are well coated and don't burn.
  10. Continue cooking until the chips are golden brown, then serve.
