Chicken Pops With Hot Honey

Breaded Chicken, Spicy Honey Dip.....What's Not To Love!?

This is kind of like a upgraded KFC at home with a lovely and sweet homemade hot honey dip! Never heard of hot honey? Well you have now!

  1. Grab a high sided pan and place over medium heat, add the oil and bring the temperature to 175℃.
  2. Meanwhile set up a dredging station with 3 bowls, one filled with the flour, one with the eggs and the final one with the breadcrumbs. Grab the piece of chicken and dip it in the flour, then with the other hand dip it into the egg mixture then into the breadcrumbs. Swapping hands keeps one dry to flour and one wet to coat in the egg mixture and breadcrumbs. Repeat for all and place on a plate.
  3. Once oil is hot enough, in batches of 4 cook the chicken pieces for 3mins each until lovely and golden, once cooked remove and place on a plate of kitchen paper to drain excess oil.
  4. While cooking your chicken, in a small pan add the hot honey sauce ingredients and place over medium/low heat, stir and heat through for 5/6mins. Take off the heat and pour into a bowl and set aside.
  5. Once you've finished cooking the chicken, place in a small bowl and season with salt & pepper then place on a plate. Serve with the hot honey dip and enjoy.
