  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 1 Medium Carrot

  • 1 tbsp Mixed Herbs
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 500 g Beef Mince
  • 250 Red Wine
  • 6 Large Tomatoes
  • 500 Beef Stock

Spaghetti Bolognaise

Oven baked to intensify flavour, this beauty of a Bolognaise sauce is just wonderful!

Prep 40 minutes
Total 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Preheat your oven to 150C
  • Finely dice all the vegetables then lightly fry off the Onion, Garlic, Carrot, Celery & Pepper in an oven-proof pan until soft then add the Mushrooms & Herbs & soften.
  • Add the Beef & brown the meat, making sure to break the mince apart as much as possible while cooking.
  • Add the wine & reduce by half
  • Blitz the tomatoes in a food processor until smooth then add to the pan, along with the stock & heat the lot until it starts to simmer.
  • Pop a lid on the pan and into the oven for 2 hours, stirring every half hour or so to make sure it's not drying out or burning.
  • When ready, cook up 400g of spaghetti to pack instructions and serve.
