Nutella crumble cake (Sbriciolata)

This is a great dessert you can throw together in no time! This works great with any of your favourite preserves or spreads!

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree's
  2. Grease and line a round tart tin with a removal base (I used a 9inch)
  3. Into a large bowl sieve the flour, baking powder and sugar.
  4. Add the cold cubed butter and using your thumb and fingers rub the butter into the flour until fine breadcrumbs are formed.
  5. Begin to work only HALF of the breadcrumb mixture into your tin pushing down firmly on the base and up the sides.
  6. Once you have a firm compact base, add your Nutella to form a smooth centre layer.
  7. With the remaining butter and flour crumb mix, begin to squeeze the mixture with your hands until nuggets of dough form.
  8. Once you have a bowl of crumbly nuggets you can now scatter this on top of your Nutella as the final layer and lightly press down.
  9. Place into your oven for 30-35 minutes until golden.
  10. Serve with coffee in the morning of with ice cream for dessert, enjoy!
