Ingredients
  • 1 large chicken
  • 2½ tbsps tikka paste (balti, madras or whatever curry paste you have is fine)
  • 2 tbsps natural yoghurt
  • 2 tsps garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsps lemon juice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsps runny honey

Tikka Roast Chicken


  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl aside from the chicken, season and taste. Then rub liberally all over the chicken and leave to marinate for up to 4 hours.
  2. Once ready, pre-heat the oven to 180℃ and roast the chicken for 1 hour. (Add water - see tips below)
  3. After one hour, remove and brush over honey before placing back in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. (adjust timing for size of the chicken)
  4. Serve with indian roast potatoes
