Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (you can mix with ground pork for more flavour)
  • 3 slices dry crusty bread, soaked in water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsps grated parmiggiano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp parsley, dried or chopped fresh
  • 1 tsp garlic, powder or minced fresh
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tomato sauce

Method

  1. Squeeze all of the water from the bread and combine with all of the ingredients above using your hands. 
  2. Form into small meatballs and drop into boiling sauce. You can pre bake or fry them if you wish. Cover pot and let boil for at least half an hour over medium heat. Wait a few minutes before stirring for the first time or they will lose their form and crumble.
