Beer Can Chicken

This is a showstopper! Just look at the gorgeous colour and how juicy it looks

Such a hassle free dish to make, get yourself a great rub and good beer then let the oven do the rest of the work for you. Just make sure to keep an eye on it so you control the colour of the skin

Prep 5 minutes
Total 1 hour 20 minutes
  1. Preheat the oven to 190℃, grab a large mixing bowl and place the chicken in. Pour over the olive oil and rub all over, then scatter the chicken all over and run to make sure to cover all of the chicken.
  2. Crack open the can of beer, pour half a glass for yourself (you've earned it) and leave half in. Place the chicken on top of the can inserting the can into the cavity to stand up on. Make sure it's secure and place onto an oven tray and carefully place into the oven and cook for 1hr.
  3. After an hour take the chicken out of the oven (carefully) and gently brush the chicken in the bbq sauce all over then place back in the oven for 10mins.
  4. After the final 10mins remove from the oven and brush any remaining bbq sauce on the chicken and leave to sit for 5/10mins while all the juices relax.
  5. Once relaxed, take the chicken off the can and discard the beer. Carve up and enjoy
