  • 4 Pork loin chops of equal thickness
  • 4 tbsps Olive oil
  • ¼ Cup Flour
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Onion powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • Cast iron skillet or non stick pan with a lid
  • 1 tbsp Chopped parsley for garnish
Stovetop Spice Rubbed Pork Chops

Pork chops are something we tend to shy away from because they often aren’t tender when cooked. Try this method for juicy pork chops with very little fuss.

Method:

  1. Take pork chops out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking. Sprinkle each side with salt.
  2. Prepare your rub by combining garlic powder, onion powder, flour, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
  3. After 30 minutes, pat pork chops dry on each side using a paper towel.
  4. Divide half of the rub over the pork chops, and using your fingertips massage into the meat well. Flip the pork chops over and repeat the same to the other side using the rest of the rub.
  5. Heat your oil in a wide cast-iron skillet over high heat. Place the pork chops in the oil and cook for one minute.
  6. Turn the pork chops over, and reduce heat to medium. Cover with a lid and let it cook for five minutes.
  7. Remove from Heat and let rest for five minutes before slicing. In the meantime, you can reduce the liquid from the skillet and add some butter. Poor this over your sliced pork chops and sprinkle with parsley for garnish. Enjoy.
