Australian White Christmas Slice

White Christmas slice is a popular Australian dessert/snack prepared during Christmas holidays. It is a no-bake recipe. Hence, can be prepared beforehand and refrigerated for up to 10 days. Traditionally it is made using milk powder. I have used white chocolate. You can make them using any kind of nuts you like along with dried apricots, raisins, glace cherries, puffed rice/ rice krispies and desiccated coconut.

Traditionally it is made using milk powder. I have used white chocolate. You can make them using any kind of nuts you like along with dried apricots, raisins, glace cherries, puffed rice/ rice krispies and desiccated coconut.

Step 1:

Chop the nuts and transfer into a large bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients (nuts, dried fruits, desiccated coconut and rice krispies) and mix for even distribution.

Step 2:

Grease a rectangular tray or glass dish with coconut oil and line it with baking paper.

Step 3:

Melt the white chocolate by placing the stainless steel bowl/heat proof glass bowl with chocolate squares on the pan with boiling water on a medium flame. (Do not let the hot water touch the bowl).

Step 4:

Add a table spoon of coconut oil, mix and let the chocolate melt completely with occasional stirring.

Step 5:

Once the chocolate melts, add the nuts, dried fruits, desiccated coconut and rice krispies. Mix well and transfer into the glass dish lined with baking paper.

Step 6:

Flatten the mix using a wooden spatula. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours. Slice them into squares and enjoy!
