  • macaroni (enough for four)
  • 2 tbsps butter
  • 500 ml milk
  • 3 tbsps plain flour
  • 150 g parmesan cheese, grated

  • 1 tub of 50/50 fresh crab meat
  • sprinkling of sea salt and four pepper mix
  • a handful of chopped herbs... parsely or cress ideally
Mac 'n' Cheese with Fresh Cornish Crab Meat
A fabulous combination of the classic Mac 'n' Cheese with succulent white and brown crab meat!

Who doesn't love a Mac 'n' Cheese, and this one is taken to a new level with the addition of fresh Cornish crab meat! Made with mature cheddar and parmesan cheese and seasoned with a fabulous mix of Cornish sea salt blended with four peppers, this comes highly recommended!

  1. Start with cooking the macaroni... following the instructions on the pack for quantities and cooking times. Drain well
  2. Whilst its cooking, make the cheese sauce (in a shallow pan) by melting the butter and then stirring in the flour to form a paste. Gradually add in the milk, stirring continuously (use a whisk if you prefer) until you get a nice thickish, lump free sauce. Add in the macaroni, cheese and the brown crab meat. Season (I used this fabulous salt and pepper mix from the Cornish Salt Company) and stir in well
  3. Finally, sprinkle the white crab meat over the top, along with a bit more grated parmesan and pop under a moderate grill to brown nicely on the top. Finish with a sprinkling of herbs
