Ingredients
  • 325 g plain flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 230 g unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 60 ml ice cold water
  • 1 egg

  1. Add the flour, salt and sugar to a bowl and mix. Then add the butter and start to mix with both hands until you have small breadcrumb like texture.
  2. Add the water and start bringing the dough together, adding more water as necessary if the dough is too crumbly.
  3. Then turn the dough out onto a work surface and flatten into a disc. Wrap in cling film and place in the fridge for at least 1 hour or upto 2 days before rolling out.
