  • 500 g good quality sausages
  • 150 g cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsps cumberland chutney
  • 1 ready made shortcrust pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsps fennel seeds

Speedy Sausage Rolls

The basis of this recipe is 400 g sausage meat, 100 g of a cheese of your choice and 2-3 tablespoons of your favourite chutney. You can mix and match and experiment with this simple recipe!


  1. Remove the sausage meat from the casings and add to a bowl along with the grated cheese & chutney. Mix until incorporated.
  2. Unroll the pastry and then cut this in half lengthways
  3. Form half the sausage meat into a long log like shape and place onto one piece of the pastry. Roll the pastry over so the meat is secure inside and then do the same with the remaining pastry and filling.
  4. Cut into desired sizes (we did 6 rolls), brush with beaten egg and sprinkle on top the fennel seeds
  5. Bake at 180℃ for 25-30 minutes
