Hot Cross Bun Custard Pudding

Easter for me reminds me of family time. From being small, I have always met up with family for a roast dinner on Easter Sunday, followed by a big dessert! Hot cross buns would always be in my house at Easter time, and we usually had a few left over by the time we couldn’t face any more food, so we made this pudding and it really does work!

  1. Mix together your cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, butter, egg and cinnamon until combined. I used an electric whisk to do this!
  2. Slice your hot cross buns in half and add 1 tbsp of chocolate spread and then put back together - like you are making a hot cross bun sandwich! Realest for the rest of the hot cross buns.
  3. Pop your hot cross buns into an oven proof dish and pour your cream mixture over the top so the hot cross buns are submerged 3/4.
  4. Sprinkle your chocolate chips over the top and bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees. After 25 mins, add your mini eggs and pop back into the oven for another 5 minutes and then take out and set to the side to cool and enjoy!
