  • 400 ml Beef Stock
  • 400 g Braising Steak
  • ½ White onion
  • 2 Chipotles in adobo
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1½ tsps Cumin
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 1 tbsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Juice of one lime
To Serve & Garnish
  • Red Onion
  • Feta
  • Tortillas
  • Salsa
  • Sour Cream

Slow Cooker Barbacoa Tacos


  1. Dice the steak, season and then brown in a hot pan until brown all over. Remove and repeat with all the steak until it’s done. Try not to over rows the pan otherwise they won’t brown. 
  2. Place all the other ingredients (aside from the sliced onion) into a blender with an open top (as the stock is hot) and blitz. 
  3. Place the beef, onions and marinade in a slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. 
  4. Once dthis is done, remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred. 
  5. Serve on top of warm tortillas with red onion, coriander and your favourite salsa
