Chilli Con Carne Chilli Con Carne

Chilli Con Carne

This is a very simple chilli recipe for you, full of flavour and would be very cheap to make as well.

Recommend this on a cold winter's night wrapped up with a blanket on the couch

Prep 10 minutes
Total 1 hour 15 minutes
  1. Grab a frying pan (with a lid) and place over medium heat, add 1 tsp of olive oil, the onions and garlic and cook for a 5-6 mins until the onions start becoming translucent then take off the heat and empty into a bowl.
  2. In the same pan add the mince with 1 tsp of olive oil, cook for 8-10 mins breaking up the mince with the back of a wooden spoon, when the water has evaporated and its starting to sizzle and catch colour then add the Worcester sauce, let it cook in for a further 2 mins and turn off the heat.
  3. Add the onions to the pan, stir together for a minute then add paprika, cumin, chilli powder, dried oregano, onion granules and tomato puree, stir for an extra minute. Add the beef stock and chopped tomatoes and stir together for 5 mins.
  4. Bring the chilli to a boil and place the lid on and turn the heat to a low and leave it to thicken and combine for 30mins, stirring every so often, remove the lid and cook uncovered for the final 10mins. Just before you serve up, place the chocolate in and stir through for an extra minute (optional).
  5. Cook some long grain rice and serve, you could add some guacamole or sour cream with tortilla chips if you fancy some extra texture and flavours to the dish. Enjoy
