  • 2 32 oz Boxes of Beef Broth
  • Bones/Meat from Prime Rib (sub for stew meat MWL)
  • 2 Chopped carrots
  • 3 Stalks of chopped celery
  • 1 Chopped onion
  • 2 Sprigs of Thyme
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 Sprigs of Rosemary
  • 4 Cloves of chopped Garlic
  • ½ Bag of Barley
  • Fresh Parsley (MWL)
  • 28 Oz Diced Tomatoes
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Mama Jill’s Beef Barley Soup


  1. Warm up a Dutch oven/ pot on medium heat. Once hot, pour all of the beef broth in.
  2. Add in the meat right after, as well as celery, bay leaves, parsley, garlic, onion, rosemary and thyme. Stir and let cook for at least an hour and a half.
  3. Once meat is tender, add in barley and diced tomatoes. Stir. Let it sit for about an hour.
  4. Add in carrots. Let it sit for 20 more minutes.
  5. It should be done now! The longer it sits, the more it marinates 😌
  6. Pull out all bones and leaves.
  7. Serve & Enjoy! 💙
