INGREDIENTS

The basics
  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • buttermilk or milk
  • hot sauce
  • 50 g flour
  • 50 g cornflour
  • 2 eggs
Spices and stuff
  • 2 tbsps paprika
  • 1 tbsp onion granules
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 pepper

Man, I just love homemade fried chicken

Method


  1. Sit the chicken in a mix of buttermilk/milk and hot sauce of your choice for a minimum of 2 hours. No set measure for this, all depends how spicy you like it.
  2. Take your flour and cornflour mix and add in all the spices.
  3.  mix the spices into the flour mix until all incorporated.
  4. Make and egg wash mix and whack in a bowl.
  5. Take your chicken out of the milk/hot sauce mix and shake off excess.
  6. Add to the flour mix ensure all is covered.
  7. Shake off excess flour and put in the egg wash.
  8. Shake off excess egg wash and add to the flour mix.
  9. Deep fry between 8-12 minutes or until evenly a deep golden colour all over.
